Why prep can matter more than chemistry

Coatings fail when the bond fails. Oil, weak concrete, old paint, trapped moisture, and contamination can keep a new layer from attaching properly. A fast-cure resin applied over a weak surface is still a weak floor.

  1. Remove the weak surface: mechanical grinding or another appropriate method prepares the concrete profile.
  2. Address contamination: oil and residue may require additional cleaning or removal.
  3. Repair the defects: cracks and spalls need a repair plan before the finish goes down.
  4. Discuss moisture: dampness and vapor movement should be considered before the system is selected.
  5. Match the topcoat: the wear layer should fit sunlight, chemicals, slip risk, and daily traffic.

Which system makes sense for a typical North Texas garage?
